Nkurunziza Assasination

President Kagame’s former bodyguard and strong critic Nkurunziza has been assassinated by unknown gunmen in Cape Town South Africa today.

Sources reveal that Nkuruziza had fled to exile in South Africa after accusing Kagame of planning to rule Rwandans by force, torture of opponents and Kagame also accused him of planning a coup.

Nkuruziza had turned into a strong critic against the Kigali regime that has ruled the country since 1994. On several occassions, he has accused the Rwanda’s leading president of becoming a “president for life” something that has not gone well with several opposition figures in the country.

The Nkurunziza killing occurred five days after Kagame was in South Africa to attend President Cyril Ramaphosa’s inauguration on May 25, 2019. To some voices against the Rwanda Regime, this is not coincidental.

Kagame Regime Calls Assasinated Guard a Hijacker!

The Kigali Regime has swiftly announced that the former Kagame guard killed in South Africa was a hijacker. How did the Rwanda government determine this in a matter of hours?

The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Olivier Nduhungirehe, has announced that Nkurunziza was killed hijacking a vehicle in Cape Town.

Minister Nduhungirehe also proclaimed:

”Camille Nkurunziza, a member of terrorist organizations RNC of Kayumba Nyamwasa then FLN of Callixte Nsabimana, was also a hijacker in South Africa. He was killed yesterday evening by the Goodwood Police while resisting arrest with a knife. Once a criminal, always a criminal.”

Nkurunziza A Determined Critic

Nkurunziza of Rwanda

Nkuruziza was a determined critic of the Kagame regime, accusing the Rwandan ruler of silencing dissenting views. Nkurunziza is credited for starting a campaign against the constitutional amendment that enabled Kagame to cling to power beyond two terms.

This latest death comes after four attempted assassinations in South Africa of former Rwandan army chief of staff, General Kayumba Nyamwasa; and Karegeya, the former Rwandan intelligence chief. The Karegeya case is still ongoing after the court determined that his killers are connected to the Kagame government, and must be tried in South Africa.
